Man Mandir Palace
Man Mandir Palace (often called Man Singh Palace or Chit Mandir / Painted Palace) is one of the most iconic royal structures inside Gwalior Fort, reflecting the architectural brilliance and cultural grandeur of medieval India. It stands as an enduring symbol of Rajput heritage and artistic excellence.
History & Significance
Built by: Raja Man Singh Tomar of the Tomar dynasty between 1486 and 1516 CE.
Era: 15th century, during a period when Gwalior was a flourishing centre of art, music, and culture.
The palace is one of the most important surviving pre-Mughal palaces in India and served as the royal residence and administrative hub of the Tomar kings
